MEGA is a regular host of Game-making jams. Attendees tend to focus on digital games but are free to create board- and card games as well.
Our regular competitions are: - The Global Game Jam: MEGA is the Los Angeles host of the world-wide Global Game jam, a yearly 48-hours create-a-game challenge.
- Game Blitzes : our 2 hour game jams that we hold every Fridays are great for starting out an idea and developing libraries.
- USC Game Hack-A-Thon: Participants have 10 days to make the best game possible
- Board game Jams: Participants are given the same set of things (cards, building blocks, chips, etc) and they may use them to create a game. The duration of the Jam varies, though they tend to be shorter than other jams.
